A compression test tells you something is wrong. A leak-down test tells you where. This tester pressurizes the cylinder and isolates the leak path, whether it is the rings, the valves or the head gasket.
Why you need it
Low compression has several causes and a standard gauge cannot tell them apart. Leakage testing shows how much is escaping and where it is going.
What's in the kit
- Dual-gauge leakage tester
- Hoses and adapters
Used to find
- Worn rings
- Leaking valves
- Head gasket leaks
Good to know
- Works on petrol and diesel engines.
- Fitment: not vehicle-specific. Used for diagnostics on European engines.
