Lock the cam chain tensioner in place during belt and chain service on VW and Audi engines. This plastic-adjuster holding tool covers 1.8T through 4.2L engines where a belt drives one camshaft and a chain drives the other.

Why you need it

A cam chain tensioner under spring or oil pressure will push back when you release the chain. A holding tool keeps the adjuster compressed so you can remove and refit the chain and belt without it springing out.
